I'm sitting here in a locally-owned Gainesville coffee shop called "Cym", situated roughly at the corner of NW 55th Street and Newberry Road. Lots of students here with their laptops...I had to look around to find a place to sit. But it's a fun view outside here, and I have a hanging roof to shield me from rain or excess wind. I got an iced coffee with hazelnut flavor, and it's good. I thought that now, with me newly retired and all, it would be a good idea to try out the different places...and by that I mean coffee shops. This one shows some promise although it isn't exactly close to home, and at this early afternoon time (~2:00) it seems to be pretty full, with few seating choices. But the folks working here seem friendly enough...
