Congratulations, Sweetheart

It is with great pride, appreciation, and pleasure that I can announce my wife Melissa’s graduation tomorrow. She is receiving her BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) from the University of Central Florida, having taken advantage of the remote/Internet classes they offered to students living at a distance from its Orlando campus.

Already working in a position of management involving health care as an RN (Registered Nurse), Melissa looks to enhance her career prospects with this hard-earned degree. There may also be graduate school in the works at some time in the future. She has been a wonderful example and inspiration for me and our children. And with our son Will going off to college, Melissa is now the family computer expert (although our daughter is showing herself to be a whiz in this area)!

It is so gratifying for me to see, as we travel through this long journey of life, that there seem to be few limits to the opportunities available to those who are willing to take advantage of them. But it takes a personal commitment to see some of these opportunities through, as well as support from others. I appreciate Melissa’s steadfastness with her many (and sometimes difficult) assignments, as well as her generosity, grace, and caring for us, even while having to work under periods of heavy stress.

Well done, sweetheart!

  1. Congratulations to Melissa! It's good to see people pursuing and getting what they want, and getting a new degree after being out in the Real World for a while is a significant thing.
